Kerala - God's Own Country

Kerala is truly “God’s Own Country“.  The sheer natural beauty combined with several man-made wonders goes to make this a paradise on Earth.  Kerala for me conjures up myriad memories, a number of colors and a canvas waiting to be painted. The beauty and elegance of the land make it truly a difficult task as to where to start my story- a story of my experiences and memories. A travel enthusiast, writer and artist; I love discovering new lands and exploring the culture, traditions, food, art and last but not the least the scenic beauty. However, must admit that Kerala has been a land that has left me totally in awe and with a lasting impression that I would cherish for the times to come.

This blog is an effort to share my experiences and journeys so that several travel lovers like me can benefit from the first hand information. A travel guide, a travelogue, a friend by your side you may call it anything that you like. I wish to take you along with me in exploring a land that is truly splendid. A holiday here is one straight out of your dreams. With natural beauty, excellent food, luxurious accommodation facilities and a number of tourist attractions, you are sure to have a time of your life. Every post here is an aim to unravel the destinations that you would love visiting   also provide practical information that would make it a comfortable and convenient stay for you.

Coming back to facts. Kerala state, is a small state tucked away in the southern part of India.  It is a wonderful blend of lush greenery, rich culture, traditions, art forms and warm and friendly people (we would go in further into each of the aspects that make this a complete and enjoyable experience for you).

A culmination of the sea and mountains, Kerala is surrounded by the Arabian sea to it’s west and the Western Ghats to the east. The land blessed with abundant natural beauty - a poet’s dream come true and great inspiration for a writer. With a network of 44 rivers, the waters offer a great place for much of the activity. The popular backwaters is a tour planned in the future posts. So tie your seat belts and be on this virtual tour with us.

Kerala plays the perfect host to thousands of tourists the year round – both locals as well as international. A hot spot on the tourism map of the world, the tourism sector is sure buzzing with activity. The Kerala Tourism Development Corporation has left no stones unturned to provide infrastructure and other facilities that would make it a memorable visit for the tourist. The private sector too, has pitched to provide the very best facilities and so to say the hotels from 5 star to the very affordable variety that fits every pocket and tastes of the individual tourist.

The tropical type of climate provides a wonderful ambience all year long that makes it possible to enjoy this beautiful destination. Whether you decide to laze around in the golden sands during the summer or enjoy the rains, it is all here for you. Kerala, must say, is a wonderful destination that is a complete package. What I mean here is it is truly difficult to find a small state like this, having such variety in geographical features from golden sandy beaches to beautiful hill stations, waterfalls and sprawling plantations, you name it and it is all here.

With 14 different districts and a number of lovely tourist attractions in each of them. Here is a journey you would surely enjoy.
